Color weaving festival
Legend has it that the very first inhabitants of our world had no clothes. When the weather was bad, they had no choice but to huddle together for warmth and hope for improvement. The weak and powerless could only grit their teeth and had to endure the cold without any help. When there was a cold snap, people died like flies. They were slaves to the weather.
But one night, the gods sent a messenger clad in clothes that looked as if they had been woven from a rainbow. The mere sight of it was enough to envelop the observer in a soft, soothing glow like that of the moon. The name of the messenger of the gods was Lunella and she had come to teach people how to weave clothes and survive the cruel winter. Our entire understanding of beauty came from this one moment. The first pioneers then began to experiment with the production of clothing. They designed new cuts that not only provided warmth, but also expressed beauty.
After the people had mastered the art of weaving, Lunella quietly and secretly disappeared and has not been seen since. To pay tribute to Lunella’s kindness, people gather here every year at this time and prepare their most beautiful dresses. This festival is intended to illustrate the permanence of what Lunella taught us. It will continue to be passed on from generation to generation and will forever remain part of our wealth of knowledge.
